Qadian 5 Nov (Verma): As part of the National Legal Services Authority campaign from October 31 to November 13, under the guidance of Legal Services Authority Chairman Rajindra Agarwal and Secretary CJM Miss Navdeep Kaur Gill, under the supervision of Nodal Officer Parminder Singh Saini, in local Ved kaur Arya Girls Sr. Under the leadership of Principal Mamta Dogra, district coordinator Mukesh Verma and Jasbir Singh Samra, provided information about legal services which is being given . Speaking on this occasion, he said that the National Legal Services Authority Act was introduced in the year 1987, which was later enforced on November 9, 1995 and the National Legal Services was constituted on December 5, 1995. Mukesh Verma said that the main objective of PALSA is to provide free and proper justice to the people, to settle disputes in a good environment through public courts and to organize camps in rural areas to bring legal awareness among people. Under this category, people are being made aware through students in 915 schools of the district.
He said that free legal aid is available to women and children, members of SC/ST category, people suffering from emergency situations, families affected by violence, floods, droughts, earthquakes, etc., besides disabled people and people living in police custody as well as low income earners..These services include court fees, processing fees, free services of advocate for legal action, provision of certified copies of orders, filing of appeals etc. without any cost to the above categories of people. On this occasion, Jasbir Samra informed the students about the numbers to be dialed for legal services, 1968, 181,1098. On this occasion, Legal Services Authority Coordinator Mukesh Verma, Jasbir Singh Samra and Principal Mamta Dogra honoured school students Jashanpreet Kaur and Sunaina for their speech on fundamental rights. principal of the school asked the students to share the legal services provided to the students with their parents.
